01
Plan alternating flow around the actual work length
The method should account for the controlled section, visibility between control points, expected queues, side accesses and the movements of plant and work vehicles.
- Explain how the stop/go operation will work for each stage rather than relying on a vague note.
- Include pedestrians or cyclists who cannot safely use the normal route through the work area.
02
Inputs for queue and visibility planning
Send the worksite length, road environment, hours, staging, photos and expected plant movements. Identify bends, crests, intersections, accesses and other constraints near the control points.
- State whether the work front will move or remain fixed.
- Provide any timing constraint that may affect traffic demand or available working windows.
03
Test the proposed arrangement against the site
Send the site brief for a planning review before treating stop/go as the settled solution. The available information may show that staging or additional detail is required.
- Confirm the people and equipment requested if field delivery is included.
- Carry authorised changes into the current TMP and TMD set.
