Plan the event movement, not only the closure
An event TMP should relate venue or route activity to arrival, departure, pedestrian flow, parking, road restrictions, emergency access and the timing of setup and removal.
- Separate event operations from the traffic-management establishment and uplift windows.
- Describe steward interfaces only where they are part of the organiser's confirmed plan.
02
Event brief needed for traffic planning
Send the event date and times, venue or route plan, expected attendance, parking proposal, road impacts, access requirements and the organiser's operational schedule.
- Identify proposed closures, detours and affected public transport or property access.
- Provide authority correspondence and previous plans only as reference, not as proof the new event is covered.
03
Begin before the submission window becomes the constraint
The first review can identify the TMP and drawing scope, missing event information, likely corridor documentation and any field-delivery requirements that need separate confirmation.
- Send the current programme even if some operational details remain provisional.
- Update the traffic documents when the event layout or timings change.
