Location and authority support

West Coast traffic management, from plan to pack-down

A West Coast worksite can be separated from its nearest depot by hours of exposed highway. YourTMP brings the application, approved layout, field establishment, monitoring and uplift into one coordinated job scope, subject to the controlling authority and confirmed local resources.

A local page is the starting point—not the whole scope.

The road, work method, dates, traffic environment and responsible authority determine the actual planning and operational response.

Can one provider cover planning and site delivery?

Yes. YourTMP can prepare the TMP and corridor-access material, then arrange competent people and equipment to establish, operate and remove the approved controls. Buller, Grey or Westland District Council decides local-road access; NZTA decides access on the state-highway network.

02

One scope across three coastal districts

Regional work may cross council boundaries or meet the state-highway spine. We identify each road-controlling authority early, separate the required applications and align the approved controls so the work team is not left reconciling different conditions at mobilisation.

  • Authority and road ownership check
  • CAR, TMP and closure inputs
  • Interfaces recorded before deployment
03

Mobilisation planned around distance and access

Crew travel, equipment transport and recovery are treated as part of the method, not an afterthought. The proposed programme accounts for remote approaches, limited alternate routes and the practical consequence of a late change when the site is far from replacement resources.

  • Confirmed travel and call-out assumptions
  • Equipment matched to the approved layout
  • Pack-down and return journey included
04

Controls that respond to an exposed network

Rain, slips, maintenance activity and changing highway conditions can alter the safe operating picture. The site team monitors the approved arrangement and escalates any necessary adjustment through the authorised process rather than informally departing from the accepted TMP.

  • Pre-start network check
  • Recorded site monitoring
  • Authorised change pathway
05

A clean finish for corridor owners

When work is complete, controls are removed in a planned sequence and the corridor is checked for safe reopening. Required completion records, warranty obligations or authority notifications are then handled against the conditions applying to that particular road.

  • Orderly uplift
  • Road-reserve condition check
  • Job-specific completion evidence

West Coast work we can coordinate

Remote highway maintenance support

Planning and approved deployment for maintenance sites reached through long, weather-sensitive corridors.

Coastal council-road occupations

CAR and TMP support for works within Buller, Grey or Westland local-road reserves.

Resilience and recovery sites

Job-specific traffic control for repair activity where access, weather and network changes need close coordination.

Regional project staging

Linked planning for work fronts that move between towns, districts or different road-controlling authorities.

The road location determines the approver: Buller, Grey or Westland District Council for their local roads, and NZTA for state highways. Before committing a crew, YourTMP checks the current form, approval conditions, operating-plan requirements, travel window and job-specific availability.

West Coast delivery questions

Who approves a West Coast traffic management plan?

The relevant district council approves activity on its local roads, while NZTA controls the state-highway corridor. We confirm the road owner before selecting the application path.

Can YourTMP establish the site as well as design it?

Yes, once approval and job resources are confirmed. The field scope can include establishment, monitoring, authorised changes and uplift of the accepted layout.

How do remote locations affect a quote?

Travel time, access, crew availability, equipment movements and the expected operating window are assessed for the actual site. They are not assumed from a regional label alone.

What happens if conditions change after setup?

The site is reassessed and any material departure is referred through the approved change process. The original layout is not altered simply for convenience.

Scope your West Coast worksite

Send the road, work activity and likely dates. We will identify the authority, planning inputs and field-delivery assumptions that need confirmation before a reliable proposal can be issued.
