01
Use a repeatable process without treating every site as identical
Common work methods can simplify the brief, but traffic environment, access, excavation footprint and road-user effects still need to be checked for each location.
- Separate stable work-method information from site-specific controls.
- Define when a planned arrangement cannot be used and the job needs escalation or redesign.
02
Utility programme data for each site
Send the location, asset and activity type, dates, work duration, excavation details, plant or vehicle movements, drawings, photos and any corridor reference for each site.
- Identify emergency or reactive work separately from planned maintenance.
- Include reinstatement, property-access and pedestrian effects where they form part of the activity.
03
Start with a representative site batch
A defined first batch can establish what information is reusable and what must be checked site by site before the TMP and CAR support workflow is extended.
- Mark fixed work dates and provisional dates clearly.
- Forward reviewer feedback so future documents address the same information gap.
