01

Make traffic management part of the project interface plan

The TMP should use the current design and work method while defining how construction stages, access requirements and road-user impacts will be communicated to the delivery team.

  • Identify assumptions that depend on later contractor methodology or site verification.
  • Keep procurement scope, authority documents and field-delivery responsibilities distinguishable.
02

Design, programme and responsibility inputs

Provide the site, drawings, risk and staging information, programme, methodology, interfaces, access needs, authority correspondence and the traffic-management deliverables required.

  • Nominate the current design and programme revision.
  • State which details are fixed, which are contractor-designed and which remain to be verified.
03

Define the planning package and decision points

A scope review can separate the initial TMP and TMD work from CAR or WAP support, later amendments and any on-site services to be confirmed closer to delivery.

  • Send the required decision date as well as the intended work date.
  • Use one controlled information set when asking for a proposal or revision.
